I love using Pinterest. I usually only used it to save ideas and pins for my personal use. It wasn’t until I launched my boutique that I started getting serious about using it as a marketing and traffic tool for my business.
Little did I know that Pinterest is a strong search engine tool with that has over 98 million active users, me included. This was a huge eye opener. Let me first just tell you, I’ve seen a lot of fear with using Pinterest. I get it, it can be daunting, that’s how I feel about using Instagram right now, but one social platform at a time.
So how did grow my monthly viewership by over 273 THOUSAND in 30 days?
I started out with a combination of organic and inorganic traffic strategies.
What do I mean by this? I know, I had to have it explained to me as well. Simply put, organic is as it sounds meaning you post the images and drive traffic manually. Meaning, I created my pins, wrote the descriptions myself and posted it to boards I found relevant on my profile.
Inorganic refers to paid trafficking or ads. I noticed which pins where performing a little better than others and decided to dive deeper into some of the analytic features that Pinterest offers. This is a great tool to use if you’re curious about your audience. We’ll cover that in another post of where and how to find the right target audience.
I was able to do a little bit of research and search which pins were performing better. By this, I look into the business portal of Pinterest, which if you don’t have a business Pinterest account and are looking to grow your reach and make more sales I would highly suggest switching over. The business hub provides analytics and better tools to help you navigate your target audience. It’s also free to do this!
On the main page of the hub, it shows you which are your top performing pins. Exactly like the image below.
Above you can see my analytics overview from the past 30 days. You can see which pins are getting higher impressions and which ones are getting higher pin clicks as well. So far, my top pins are a mix of 3 organic pins I created and a paid advertisement pin. I essentially made all the pins however I paid for advertisement on one which help boost the outreach that pin receives getting more eyes on that pin and my account in turn drives more traffic to my site.
This also helps me gage which pins are performing better so I can change my marketing strategy if I need to. I can also plan for which content would be relevant for future posts and what I should be focusing on in my business. This helps me see at a high level what my customers like seeing and what’s relevant to them.
How to Grow your Pinterest views in 30 days!
My simple strategy is to mix it up with a combination of organic and inorganic traffic. It can be scary and there is a little bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it this will definitely help skyrocket your audience and engagement. Also want to be completely transparent inorganic traffic does have a cost to it. Don’t worry, you can budget which cost fits for you and how much you can afford on paid marketing. I did my campaigns with as little as $10. I can show you exactly how to run inorganic marketing on the next post.
So, let’s review. We’ve talked about changing over from a personal Pinterest to a business account. Let’s face it, if you are serious about running a business and not just a hobby you should probably highly consider doing this. This will help you gain more analytics and help with target audience and marketing.
We also discussed organic pins. These pins are pins you will create with images relevant to your brand and write out the specific description relevant to your audience.
We also touched base on inorganic pins, which are very similar to organic pins. The main difference is running the marketing campaign associated with those pins.
We also discussed my strategy I used for my business. This was using a combination of both pins and targeting the higher impressions and high click performing pins to tailor my next posts and product launches.
